Ok so its Monday, Just playing, anyway today’s another one of those wintery looking days. Dreary outside and I have to go up in the mountains today, YIPPY! Ok so I meet the crew going on this convoy this morning and I learned Jean-Pascal was not going today. It was DK from India, and then three Turks I have never met. So I am in my office making my final preps for the trip and one of the Turkish guys comes over and asked for my keys, so I gave him the keys so they could load their stuff ( Bullet proof vest, helmets, and any other gear they decided to bring) in the 4-runner. When I show up out at the truck one of these guys is seated in the driver seat strapped in and ready to go! Damn! Therefore, I fold up and get in. We take off to Mitro, D.K. is driving the armored vehicle and we are following him, and he is driving so slowly! OH MY! Please step on the long pedal on the right. So the Turkish guy driving is following him in 3rd gear at about 3000rpm, Shift already! Ok so if you have not noticed their driving frustrates me. They don’t believe in shifting till you run out of RPM’s. Therefore, we cruise like this for 45 minutes to Mitro! Thank God, we are here! Now I am waiting for one of these people to go into the UN Security office and file our convoy plan. Oh wait, I for got, apparently I am the convoy supervisor and security executive today! Oh wait, Thanks for telling me! So I call Jean-Pascal and ask him who’s in charge, With the best French accent you can imagine, Ahhh Mark but of course, you are! Oh great, so I am responsible if anything goes down and they have to do what I tell them to right. Weee! All righty then, here we go!
So I get all the trucks lined up and off we go! About ten minutes into the trip, I realized I forgot to get the information on the two trucks we are escorting! Well fudge. Oh, wait they let us leave, maybe I am ok. Apparently, all was well because no one said anything. So we get to the gate and its 6* C, 42.8 F, I am in my usual short sleeves and everyone else is walking around bundled up. Mark, aren’t you cold ask one of the Germans, Naw, this is like a cold front in Texas, it will go way. Why get out the cold gear for one day, Ummmm, hello dummmmmmy, you aint in Texas! This is where it gets cold and stays that way for four to six months! DUH!
Therefore, man I love a computer assisted language assistant. Therefore, has anyone reading this ever heard me say therefore? Ya, me either! Not properly anyway! Right! I said it for ya Brandon, Rick and Jimmy! Smokey quit laughing, you too Flash! Allright dang it, get it out! 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ok yall done? So we get done at the gates and dang it if the ole boy didn’t beat me back to my truck and there he was, sitting in my seat. Now normally I would just get in, but for some reason I did a walk a round and asked everyone if they were ready. Then the ole boy hopped out and headed for the WC (water closet for all you uneducated folks)! Ok I am joking; it took me a month to figure out what WC was. Hell I thought it was a band or something, it was everywhere! Who knew! Therefore, when he jumped out to go to the WC I jumped in and locked the doors! Not really, I did jump in though; heck, I am the convoy commander! Dontadadon! So I pull out and drive over by the WC and wait for him! When he comes out he is surprised but relieved too, he was tired and I gladly reminded him of that! So back to the big city, DK. The Long pedal on the right! Push it! Ok so we get to Mitro where we terminate the convoy. Now I put in third and pass DK and say c”ya! We beat him back by 30 minutes! I really like DK when he is not driven.
So after that the highlight of my day was talking to Punk and Speed, I Heard Pudge making sure people were paying attention to her! Speed was chatty, She was telling me Chuck paid her 15 dollars to help pick up limbs out of his yard and Landon was getting paid for supervising. Molly Got in on the action too I think, Chuck is too good to those kids, they probally made more of a mess then IKE! Anyway after that I went to a meeting of the minds and then I became Brads driver! Take me here, take me there. But when Brad does this he has a reason, I don’t always understand but eventually he will tell me! Brad is a good friend, he listens to me when I whine, and he can always tell when something is bothering me, that’s usally when we drive or go get coffee! Anyway, I guess I am rambling today and I am sorry, I suggest to all my friends, if you can find the time, do something like this. You will find yourself talking in your head and expressing things in a far different way then you would if you were speaking! I think this daily story I started has been a great avenue of release for me. Anyway, I guess I will close for now! Good night and God Bless! Love ya Biggen. P.S. I talked to Pam and they are fine, Mom and Dad have power at the house on Pecos so they were all hanging over there. Ok bye!
