Saturday 6th September

Ok Saturday morning at main HQ is dead, so we arrive at work , BS for a few and head to the Pheonix for breakfast. now this is a new experience for me because this place just re-opened. They have real bacon! OMG! I get to eat real PIG! So I order the Bristish Breakfast, yummy... Eggs, toast, BACON, and Beans? what the heck why not, a few hours later I could have told you why not, but hey this is a ffamily channel and I wont go into that! So while eating i notice there are alot of IPO'S that I recognize and they are in kilts, well apparently there was a herd of Scottsman headed to Masadonia to watch a football game and they have to wear their skirts! so that was the highlite of the day, being photographed with my friend in a skirt! I am just kidding about that (KILT)!
Sunday 8th September
today is training day 2, we will drive with a two vehicle convoy, I am driving the tail vehicle and Jean-pascal is driving the lead armored vehicle. Today i am joined by Sam (American) and Wu (China)! My orders are to remain two to three meters behind the armored vehicle at all times. 2x3 is 6 and 3x3 is 9, damn thats close, exspecialy at 50 MPH. OK! so Wu and Sam are doing every thing they can not to watch, Poor Sam was talking about how he is not comfortable following people so close. I asked Sam, Hey did I ever tell you that I am a huge fan of NASCAR and i have always wanted to be a race car driver? Poor Sam just Groaned and bowed his head. So i put them throughthis tortue for about 30 minutes and we stopped for coffee. these training days are more like sight seeing tours.
After coffee we headed into the mountains down south near Peja. we stopped at what I thought was a Italian KFOR Fort. when we exited the trucks Jean-Pascal tells us to take off our gun belts and lock every thing in the armored truck. we are at a Mnestary built in 1327, WOW! so we enter through the gates and I was amazed, it was like stepping back in time! I dont even know how to explain it! Amazing!

so we walk around and we see a monk here and there and we headed fro the chappel. it was Beautiful, so we go in and the monk monitoring the chappel see's we are all internationals with different flags on our uniforms and he starts talking to us in english. he gave us a private tour of places you dont normally get to go, when he finished another monk had shown up and he escorted us up to the private dinning facility of the monls for coffee and cookies. wanna talk about a trip! so we headed up and he asked in plain english if we wanted coffee or tea. 5 coffee's and 1 tea please. So he walks away and we are just sitting there in awww. when he returns i asked " Turkish coffe?" He said " No Expresso thanks to the Italians, They gave us a machine!" everyone started laughing. then he turned and walk away. he left us seated up there for about 30 min thenn came back and got us. Now he said, follow me. so I do and he takes me into the bowels of the building, its cool and dark down here. this is where they store there wine and cheese. and let me tell you, They aint gonna run out anytime soon! So I asked if we could purchase some, he looked at me and asked, How many you want! so I bought four and a b;pcl of cheese and headed back up to the day light. when i was done there i went back to the chappel and purchase some hand carved crosses. These are small crosses with some amazing work. they are wood and have a cross inside of a cross! Man this is cool and I am not a hugh history buff. I kept waiting to see a king or Quenn come out in all their glory but didnt get that Lucky!
anyway we finished there and headed back!

Brother- I am so excited for you and the visual education you are receiving from your time there. The monastery sounds amazing and I am dying to see the crosses - will you send a picture please? I love you. p
